Day 63 – Whiteboarding with Optimization

This is the best I have ever felt about teaching Optimization. I cut down the type of problems by a lot and we spent almost half of the instructional time with them working on whiteboards like above. All four of the students in the picture are engaged, but the only issue with whiteboards is that occasionally one person in the pairing checks out. I switched it up every day and forced them to work with people they don't normally see in the classroom, which helped, but I guess there is always going to be some level of this.
