Today, in my non AP class, we learned how to take the derivative of exponential and logarithmic functions of bases other than e. I tried something new with whiteboards today – I feel like we practice a lot in our notebooks, but that their notes end up a whole lot of junk that they would have trouble looking at again. So today, I had them work on whiteboards for ten minutes and then copy only a few problems back into their notebooks at the end that they might want to actually look at later. The 10 minutes working together and then 2 minutes individual reflection was a really good routine for learning.
