Today, we worked on some great calculator skills in non AP calculus. I'm always surprised at how many students don't know how to find an appropriate window and don't know how to calculate a zero, so I feel validated that this is worthy use of class time. We took functions and calculated area vs. calculating plain old Integrals.
Man, the basic and cheap iPhone calculator apps are so much better than TI calculators! It's such a shame we don't just use those. If only they were allowed on standardized tests!
