Day 116 – Cross Section Solids and ELL Math

In a switch from how I have done this in the past, I decided to do solids with known cross section before solids of revolution so that students can focus on the accumulation part of solids. I gave them these models and asked me to describe them without any introduction for me. We talked about what et were for about 10 minutes before I showed them how the AP exam/textbook would describe them. I think that this helped my students a lot in being able to parse through the tricky wording of this stuff, especially because 95% of them are English Language Learners.
